Our Evidence Hierarchy
Three Tiers of Evidence
Tier 1 — Gold Standard
Randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. Multiple independent studies with consistent results.
Examples: Creatine monohydrate, caffeine, periodization principles, protein targets
Tier 2 — Strong Evidence
Well-designed observational studies and clinical guidelines from NSCA, ACSM, ISSN, and ADA.
Examples: Omega-3s, magnesium, zinc, citrulline malate
Tier 3+ — Not Used
Anecdotal reports, industry-funded research, or unverified protocols. Not included regardless of popularity.
